Ambassador of Qatar to Contra Réplica : The Qatar 2022 World Cup will be unique

The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be an opportunity for Qatar to show the world a mix of civilization, tradition and modernity, while fans will enjoy the World Cup for the first time in the Middle East:
So Qatar is working on the eight stadiums and all the necessary infrastructure for the World Cup to be ready  in 2020, one year before the deadline set by FIFA.

The Qatari authorities are aware of the importance of the fans at the World Cup, so they are developing projects that facilitate the arrival and establishment of the fans, such as hotels and accommodation, which will feature traditional Arabian tents and how to run direct flights between Mexico and Qatar.

In an interview with the Contra Réplica newspaper, the  ambassador, Mohamed Al-Kuwari, said that although he´s been in Mexico since eight months, he  found a closer relationship between Qatari and Mexican culture in some things, including family and customs
"There is a big Mexican audience In the World Cup , there were 35,000 Mexican fans  in  the world cup in Rusia. " he said, adding that Qatar is  preparing to receive fans from around the world, especially Mexican fans. Therefore, Qatar Airways will open soon a direct flight between Mexico City and Doha.

He added that Qatar Airways will be updating offers to travel to the World Cup2022, including tickets for matches, accommodation and transportation through the Doha Metro.

About the metro network, the ambassador said it will be operational next year and will connect the eight stadiums, Hamad International Airport and major tourist attractions.

It'll be the fastest transport in the world, without a driver and travelers will move fast to any stadium in no more than 45 minutes.

He pointed out that in Qatar, as in any other country, accommodation options can be found for all budgets, including on cruise ships. He stressed that there are options to stay in traditional Arabian tents, where "the visitor can learn about different traditions and taste the best Qatari cuisine-¨

As for the restrictions on alcohol, he explained that alcohol will be sold at specific places and times, but not within stadiums to avoid problems among fans.
